It is with great enthusiasm that we recognize Sarah Newton, Manager, Recreation & Culture, for her outstanding leadership, integrity, and dedication to our organization and community.

Sarah has consistently demonstrated true resilience and professionalism, particularly in recent months as she has stepped into her managerial role while continuing to uphold her responsibilities within aquatics. Taking on new challenges during a period of division restructuring is no small task, yet Sarah embraced her new role without hesitation, leading with confidence, positivity, and integrity.

She is deeply committed to ensuring the Town’s recreation division continues to thrive and succeed. Her leadership style is grounded in respect and inclusivity. Everyone she works with feels valued, supported, and heard. Sarah goes above and beyond to build meaningful connections with her staff, fostering an environment where positivity and integrity are at the forefront. She inspires those around her to be their very best and leads by example in everything she does.

Sarah’s dedication extends beyond our municipality. For the past several years, she has travelled to Guyana to support lifesaving efforts by teaching swimming and water safety. This extraordinary commitment reflects not only her passion for aquatics but her genuine desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

Dependable and approachable, Sarah creates a strong sense of trust within her team. She is an incredible mentor who invests in the growth and success of those around her.
